What is a SRT file?

The SubRip file format saves the subtitle files in SRT (SubRip Subtitle) extension. Along with the text content, it also contains the beginning and end timecodes of the text to allow users to ensure that it is in sync with the audio or the visual playback to which it is connected. It follows the HH:MM:SS, MIL format. There are display coordinates often at its end, and the rest pertains to the hours, minutes, seconds, and milliseconds.
