What is a PSP file?
Developed by Corel, the PSP file extension is a native to the PaintShop Pro. The software is similar to Adobe Photoshop. The latter one uses the PSD format, whereas the former one employs the PSP file extension. Even though both the software are quite similar in terms of feature and usage, the one from Corel is significantly cheaper and thereby more accessible as well.
It includes information such as layers, vector paths, metadata, guides, and other relevant information. Jasc Software is the original developer of the PaintShop Pro which Corel later acquired in 2004. The version 8 of the software was the last to use the PSP file extension. It has since moved on to PSPIMAGE instead.
