What is a PCX file?
Developed by ZSoft, the PCX file format belongs to the Raster image group and contain bitmaps pertaining to the DOS/Windows. It mostly finds usage in the fax and scanning applications due to its ability to store multiple formats. It can save 1-bit black and white image, 8-bit grayscale, 24-bit color images and indexed-color images. It compresses them using RLE encoding format.
