What is an ODP file?
ODP, or Open Document Format, files are zip data file extensions that were created with Impress, a presentation editing application that is included with Apache OpenOffice – one of many applications that is available with the program formerly known as OpenOffice.org – and formatted using OASIS, the XML-based OpenDocument standard. An ODP file is the main file used as an alternative to Microsoft Office Suite’s PPT or PPTX files. It is utilized by Impress to save presentations in a similar fashion to the PowerPoint program in Microsoft Office suite. Developed by Oracle, it contains a presentation – which typically consists of a title slide and content slides with text, spreadsheets, charts, images, multimedia, content, and transition effects. ODP files can also be managed by many other open-source variations of OpenOffice making it very versatile and convenient to access in multiple presentation settings such as lecture materials, picture slide shows, or business presentations.
