What is a NRG file?
This file extension is a DVD or CD image created by Nero AG. You can use it to store copies of images or to keep a variety of files that you can use to set up as a virtual disk on your hard drive. What that means is you do not need a CD/DVD to access any media application. When used on Nero’s digital media, you can author, burn, and edit audios, videos, and pictures. While Nero is the main program used to mount .nrg image files, others such as Deamon Tools, Roxio Toast, EZB Systems UltraISO, and Alcohol 120% and many more can also be used. Many people believe NRG files are the same as ISO files. However, there are some Audio tracks for Audio CDS that you cannot save on ISO images. You can always convert NRG disk images to ISO format if that is what you prefer using Nrg2Iso or NRG programs.
