What is a MSO file?
Developed by Microsoft, the MSO extension refers to a macro reference file that the OS creates while saving any Office document as a webpage. These are encoded and store macros and Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) that the developer has included in the original file. An MSO extension doesn’t hold the main content but acts as an attachment to it. If there is a MSO file attached to an email it is suggested NOT to open it as it may contain viruses.
