What is a JSX file?
As one of Adobe System’s creations, JSX is a script written in ExtendScript language, which is an additional JavaScript language. When writing plug-ins for Adobe Creative Suite software such as InDesign and Photoshop, and After Effects, JSX is what you need. You may also use the ExtendScript Toolkit found in Adobe utilities. Actually, ExtendScipt is a proprietary scripting language from Adobe, too, with very few differences compared to JavaScript. However, it contains additional features that are missing in Java, which concludes that JSX is not a JavaScript file after all. When working with Adobe and make an error, you can use Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit to debug. Also, if you want to save .jsx files in binary form, the extension name changes to .jsxbin. This version is usually to protect the file from exposure as well as accidental alterations. Should you want to reverse it back, unless you know what to do, it is best to leave it alone.
