What is an INI file?
An INI (Initialize) file stores parameters useful in initializing program settings on the Windows platform. It is in plain text but not for manual editing. It contained various sections, each of which had a name and value parameter that stored settings and preferences of the software. It was used by an old version of Windows, and is no longer in use and hence considered obsolete.
