What is a FUZ file?
The FUZ file is a compressed audio file that is used in Bethesda Softworks games. This file contains an XWM audio file and .LIP file which is a lip-sync file. The FUZ file is used to give voices to video game characters. The FUZ format combines lip-sync data and xWMA audio, which is a format similar to .wav and based on the RIFF container format. It was introduced in Bethesda Softworks’ The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and is also used in Fallout 4. The Unfuzer program can be used to create and extract .fuz files.
