What is an ODS file?
ODS stands for open document spreadsheet. ODS file is basically a spreadsheet document developed by Oracle and have the data or the information stored in cells arranged in rows and columns.
ODS files are basically in the OASIS OpenDocument format that has an XML-based standard. ODS files are created when we use calc included in the Apache OpenOffice suite. Calc is just a program in OpenOffice suite like we have excel as a program in Microsoft. Although Microsoft Excel is famous, people choose open offices as an alternative to storing their data in the form of sheets. These files can be opened in Excel too, and you can save with an extension of .xlsx as an XLSX file. It can be edited by any program like the OpenOffice program, such as the NeoOffice of mac. You can have a maximum of 256 numbers of sheets in an ODS file. Lastly, it has a Zip format.
