What is a CUE file?
These are files responsible for storing disc images. They comprise of the .cue file and additional Bin files that store disc and track details in plain text. CUE files are binary and save every aspect in raw form. Nero refers to them as Cue Sheet Track. Cue files are also used for specifying the arrangement of tracks in a CD. They are written in a standard format, which enables easy recognition by other programs. They are ASCII files that were initially used CDRWIN compact disc recording programs by Jeff Arnold of GoldenHawk Technology. Today, they also come in handy in CDs, music, and video software. The files inside contain the song name, the artist as well as the length of specific tracks. They are ideal for live recording and also the burning of records. It is good to note that .cue files are not the music files but rather the description of the tracks in the CD.
