What is a CDX file?
Developed by Microsoft, the CDX extension refers to a Compound Index File that stores the index of all the files present in any given database. The Microsoft Visual FoxPro, a relational database with an object-oriented programming environment, uses it to manage its databank. These files are similar to IDX format and were first introduced in version 2 of FoxPro. Databases can use either Structural CDX or Non-Structural CDX for managing their records.
