What is a BRD file?

A BRD file is a type of CAD file that is created by EAGLE. The application is used for schematic capture and PCB design. BRD files are usually created using the EAGLE layout editor and used for the development of design templates for circuitry and for other online necessities where templates are needed. Gerber drill files are the best way to save the BRD files. Subsequently, the file can be used by computer-aided manufacturing (CAD) programs. A slight variation of the BRD file is the BRD file association 2. The type 2 file is also a CAD file that contains a schematic of an electronic circuit which can easily be produced into different industrial standard formats such as Gerber or to a PDF file. Therefore, the difference between the two variations is that type 2 can easily be manipulated into different industrial forms, whereas BRD type is mainly a fixed output CAD file.
