What is an ACCDB file?
ACCDB file extensions are attached to database files that are developed through Microsoft Access 2007/10 to store organized tables and fields of data; including custom forms, SQL queries, and many others. ACCDB files are very similar to their predecessors, MDB – or Microsoft Access Database – files, but ACCDB files easily took over as the preferred file format. Compared to MDB files, they easily support additional functions; such as storing file attachments, database encryption, and easy integration with Microsoft Outlook and SharePoint. ACCDB files duplicate themselves into .LACCDB file extensions – a Microsoft Access Record-Locking Information file similar to ACCDBs – when they are being used to avoid accidents being made with the original file. This also helps prevent confusion among anyone who is working together on a project with an ACCDBs file. Microsoft Excel has import features for ACCDB files but they will have to be stored in a separate spreadsheet format.
