What is a MHTML file?
An MHTML refers to a MIME HTML file that stores the HTML of a webpage and its linked resources. These files can have images, audio, JavaScript applets, and CSS data saved by a web browser from a corresponding HTML file and encoded in MIME format. It is an archive web file format and stores binary data.
The MHTML format uses the HTML email technique for encryption and often come with MHT extension. One major issue with the file type is the lack of any prescribed form for it, i.e., if users save them from one web browser and try to access them in another, they may appear different, which can be annoying. The MHTML format has been renamed to EML nowadays.
