The system file is used in staging firmware updates, running pre-boot programs, and booting operating systems. Systems can use EFI files to hand off or pre-boot process to a controlled environment.
EFI files are around 100MBS. These files are sometimes used with firmware updates and be loaded in a device EFI partition during the booting process.
Unfortunately, you can view EFI partition through finder for macOS, or file explorer, since it doesn’t have a drive letter assigned to it. If you accidentally find or delete the partition, your system becomes unbootable. To protect EFI partition, window attempts to prevent you from removing it. If it’s a must you delete the file, you need a third-party partition manager like AOMEI partition assistant Pro, which allows you to delete any partition without losing data on others.
