What is a GROOVY file?

A GROOVY file is one that has a source code produced in groovy format. Groovy is a programming language that is close to Java. The only difference is that Groovy programming language is much more object-oriented, which means that it focusses more on the object being specified rather than generalizing the process. That makes it an ideal option for designing applications and programs. Programs designed and developed using GROOVY files are also much more easily integrated into Java platforms and other programming platforms. Some of the features of GROOVY files include compact syntax, which is also a reason why such files are easily integrated into Java platforms. Any file that contains the GROOVY file extension and are source files are called groovy scripts. Since the file entails the source codes that are used in programming, then a unique application is required to open and decipher the content.
