What is a MUI file?

MUI files are user instrument files used by the myriad musical notation software products. A good example is the Harmony Assistant which produces sound signals and musical realities. The primary purpose of the MUI file is for the storage of a number of sounds for instruments such as bass, piano, strings, and woodwinds. Since they store such musical sounds, then MUI files are used in the generation of a variety of realistic sounds. What the MUI file also does is that it allows the user to be able to create multiple instruments other than the default ones by editing an instrument. Therefore, MUI files are essential in the production of musical sounds, especially for instruments that come with the Harmony assistant program already installed. This program comes with already preinstalled musical sounds that when played, provide the parameters and signals to instruct the instruments of how the sounds should be played.
