What is a LIB file?
LIB files are static digital libraries of information used to store function codes that are or need configuring to operate with particular programs. LIB files can be static – where they include object files – or import libraries – containing symbols to allow a link to a DLL – or dynamic library. LIB files store multiple forms of information: functions and constants that are referenced by objects – objects such as text, images, and multiple other forms of media. When creating a function, it is often expected to be used in multiple different programs for different purposes. To avoid having to recompile the code every time that it is to be put to use, put an executable code that was created from the original function code in the library. It will able to be extracted and be applied to the program that is going to be put to use without any additional tedious recoding required.
