What is a JSP file?

JSP standards for java server pages. .jsp files extensions are a server-generated web pages. They are similar to ASP or PHP files but contain java code instead of active X. They include the reference to java side applets or java servlets. JSP file code is parsed by a web server that generates HTML that is sent to the user’s computer. These files were created because people felt java didn’t provide application developers with the needed support for web development purposes. The JSP files keep the java code a secret as it runs the servers’ side. To open a JSP file, you need suitable software like Java from Sun. You can edit JSP pages using a web development program or a basic text editor like notepad, notepad++, text pad, and eclipse. There are two major web browsers available for this purpose: Microsoft internet explorer and Mozilla Firefox, where you can view the JSP files.
