What is a DMP file?
Developed by Microsoft, its Windows operating system creates a Memory Dump (DMP) file from a program’s memory space whenever it crashes. The error dumps are 64KB (and goes up to a GB sometimes) in size and users will generally find them carrying the name MINI000000-00.DMP and further.
The zeroes in the name get replaced by month, day, and the year they have been created along with their sequence number. Windows creates DMP files in three possible cases – program dump, kernel memory dump, and a complete memory dump.
