What is a KMZ file?
Developed by a collaboration between Google and Keyhole, Google Earth, a global mapping program, uses the KMZ (Keyhole Markup Zip) file extension. These files are useful in storing the latitude and longitude details of a specific place on the earth and a custom name for it.
Some KMZ files can also incorporate a 3d model overview of a specific place from Google SketchUp to give users a better insight into how a building or any other architecture looks. These files are zipped KML files and are easier to distribute.
