What is a XSPF file?
The XSPF file is a collection of songs that are saved in the XML Shareable Playlist Format, XSPF. The XSPF file does not actually have music. It only stores information about a playlist and references media files. Although the XSPF file is similar to the M3U file, the XSPF file uses standard XML tags to organize and list the songs in the playlists. These files are used in audio players such as the VLC media player, Audacious, and Clementine. The benefit of the XSPF file is that is is the reason for the portability of playlists between computers and media devices.
