What is a MID file?
The MID is a standard extension of the Musical Instrument Digital Interface file, MIDI, that is used to make music and mix programs. These files contain information for music and which notes should be played and for how long. It was created for control of the pitch, velocity, and control signals of the music on multiple devices. The MID file does not actually have music, but it has the characteristics of the music and can be played by using software instruments that can read the MID file. Typically, there are two variations of the MID file. There is Type 0 and Type 1. Type 0 only has one track, and Type 1 has multiple tracks.
