MOD File

Category: Audio Files

What is a MOD file?

The MOD file was the first audio file that is organized by modules. The modules contain note patterns and sound samples of different instruments in the form of samples which are then arranged in patterns. The patterns dictate which sounds are played and if they are repeated. It can be said that it is one of the most used tracker formats. The MOD file is easy to use; however, the simplicity means it is limited in pattern commands. The MOD file can be created by FastTracker, StarTrekker, Noise Tracker, and other MOD creation programs. This file can be opened with Any Video Converter, VideoLAN VLC media player, Nullsoft Winamp. CocoModX, and UModPlayer.
