OGG File

What is an OGG file?

The Ogg file is a free multimedia container format that contains audio, video, text such as subtitles, and metadata. It compresses audio similar to an MP3 file but sounds better compared to an MP3 file of equal size, and the OGG file has the benefit of storing metadata which includes artist information. OGG files can be played by music players. Recently, there has been a separation between the file names, and although they all use the same OGG container format, there are different types of OGGfiles. The .oog file is used only for a specific type of audio file. The OGA is for audio, and the OGV is for video, both with sound or without sound. The OGX is for multiplexed OGG.
