What is a WLMP file?
Developed by Microsoft, the WLMP file extension stores the output from the Windows Live Movie Maker software. The program allows users to create their movies and slideshows. It was initially launched in 2000 as a part of Windows Essentials suite and renamed as Windows Movie Maker in 2012.
The WLMP format can store the path to the video, images, music, transitions, and other effects as added by the user. It doesn’t contain the original video file. The software is useful in creating sharable videos that the users can share on online platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, or others.
