What is a 3GP file?
Back in the 2000s when the internet was new to the millennial, the 3GP file format was quite a rage. Developed by the Third Generation Partnership Project, it is a container file for video and audio streams based on the ISO format. The 3GP file format uses H.263 or H.264 to save the video data and AMR-WB, AMR-WB+, AAC-LC, AMR-NB, HE-AAC, or Enhanced AAC+ for the audio part.
The 3GP file format was accessible back in the day when people had smartphones with screens lesser than 4 inches. Most of the online videos and even downloaded ones were on this format as it supports low-resolution files resulting in a smaller size, which was a significant constraint back then.
