What is an EML file?
EML file is an acronym for Email and stores digital mail files in the Outlook Express. Developed by Microsoft, it contains all the essential contents of a mail, such as a short header and a mail body. The former consists of the email address of the sender and the recipient. It also contains the date and time of the message and the subject.
The mail body can contain texts, images, hyperlinks, and other attachments, such as an MS-Word or an MS-Excel file. Even though Microsoft has developed it, you can use other programs such as Apple Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird, IncrediMail, or others to access these files. You can also open EML files directly in the browser by changing the extension to MHT. You can also access these files in a basic text editor such as Notepad by changing it to TXT or HTML format.
