What is a XLSM file?
Created by Microsoft, the XLSM file is basically a macro-enabled spreadsheet that contains worksheets comprised of cells in rows and columns.
These files also contain fixed macros programmed in this VBA language (Visual Basic for applications). These files were created in Excel 2007 in XML format and can be stored as zip, and you can open these .xlsm files in any spreadsheet application or the programs similar to excel. In order to have macros in the file, you must save the file as an xlsm file first, which will ensure that the macros are executed in your file. Macros are just like the functions feature that doesn’t bother the user to do repetitive tasks manually. It is done automatically, and you can record your macros too even though there are hundreds of them available; An example is applying a particular mathematical equation on the data.
