What is a SPRITE2 file?

Developed by MIT Media Lab, Scratch 2.0 uses the SPRITE2 for storing its graphics file. The program is for kids and is a block-based visual concept. It allows the users to create online projects, and since its inception, it has been converted in more than 70 languages. It gets its name from “scratching” and lets users mix different media files to create their projects.
The SPRITE2 is capable of holding images or scripts, sounds, and a lot more. It replaced the SPRITE extension, which was found in the original Scratch software.
