What is an LIP file?
Developed by CELSYS for its Clip Studio Paint software, the LIP file extension belongs to the raster image group. It is similar to the PSD files found in the Adobe ecosystem and supports multiple layers in vector or raster format. It can include strokes by pen, pencil, or brush and shapes, images and texts as well.
The Clip Studio Paint is primarily useful in drawing manga, a Japanese-themed comic and graphic novel style, animation and illustrations. These files are re-editable and support filters, layer masks, RGB, CMYK, and other requisite filters to help you achieve the perfect image. The CLIP file has replaced the LIP format in the v1.5.4 of the software allowing for quicker load times and being lighter on the hardware.
