What is a JFIF file?
The JFIF file format is an upgraded version of the JIF which looks to reduce the complexities and add other vital elements to make it useful. Eric Hamilton of C-Cube Microsystems led its development in the year 1991. The JPEG File Interchange Format (JFIF) store bitmap graphic and uses the JPEG compression, which uses lesser data than before. It also allows the exchange of JPEG bitstreams between two sources, such as applications or platforms.
The JFIF image consists of markers or marker segments. Very few of these markers stand alone as their primary task is to indicate the commencement of a combination that contains the requisite data bytes in a specific pattern.
