What is a DJV file?

Developed by LizardTech, DJV files are images created in the DjVu compressed format. It is useful in storing and sharing a printable document via the internet. A DJV file contains a high-res scanned bitmap and is helpful for publishing books, magazines, and other materials on the web. The Million Book Project and the One Laptop per Child campaigns made use of the file type, which has made it very valuable worldwide.
