What is a QDF file?
These are data files, also referred to as Quicken financial data format. Quicken by Intuit INC mainly uses QDP files. It is an accounting and financial tool used in Windows. It saves financial portfolios, accounts, balance details and transactions of users as well as tax information. As long as the file stays valid, Quicken always creates other related ‘Q’ files such as QTX, QEL, QPH and QSD extensions.
In Quicken versions below the year 2010, QDF files were compiled documents with a record of financial details saved in other documents but with a unique file format. These formats were also created using the Quicken application. Today, Quicken solely works with QDF files only. You can rename a QDATA file which is the data file. QDF files hold crucial information which is why you should always have a backup either on a USB, CD or DVD. You can also save them online through Swapdrive.
