What is an IDW file?
Autodesk Inventor created IDW files for the designing, visualizing, and simulation of mechanical products. They are usually 2D or 3D vector-based. You can find IPT files, IAM files, or IPN files in an IDW file. Therefore, the main job of IDW files is to save finished designs and also simulate information. This gives a rough feel of how the design will act or look before it is manufactured. Users can import IDW files to DWG, to make it compatible with Autodesk AutoCAD. An AutoCAD enables seamless sharing across various platforms. The Autodesk Inventor software has direct edit, parametric and freedom modeling features not forgetting the multi-CAD translation forte in its primary DWG drawings. Users who want to view these DWG projects can either use the designated Autodesk View software or, they can head on to the Autodesk browser. You can use IDW files on Linux, Windows XP/Vista, Ubuntu, iOS, and Android devices.
