What is a P7B file?
P7b files are security files that store secure certificates used to detect if a person or device is authentic or not. It shows whether the webserver or the computer used is genuine. The file is similar to the CRE file, but it uses a different formatting method.
A P7b file is comprised of both contains certificate and chain certificate but not the private key. The certificate in P7b is encoded in the Base 64 ASCII encoding and usually has pb7 as the file extension; hence it lacks private key.
The most common platform that uses the P7b file format for SSL certificates is Microsoft, Windows, and Java Tomcat.
You can install the file in your system using the certificate import wizard by right-clicking on the file then select install. If you already have p7b files, you can easily open it. Find the correct program then double click on the file to open.
