The COPY extension refers to a Sony Ericsson Protected Content file. The format is copy-protected and was used by the old Sony Ericsson mobile phones. It follows a proprietary DRM method to protect them, which is not very sophisticated, but got the job done. The COPY extension was mostly used to store the user’s ringtone files and could be accessed by other software. The format is no longer in use and considered obsolete.
