What is a 3DM file?
A 3DM file is an open-source 3D model format and a native file format for rhinoceros. The file contains a 3D model with other contents such as the surface, points, and curve information. The files also allow CAD, CAM, CAE, and computer graphics to accurately save and exchange the 3D geometry using both polygon mesh representation and NURBS. With complex 3D models being available for use in a computer, 3DM files play the critical role of ensuring that some of the complex 3D models, together with their other variations, including the curve information and points, are all included in one batch. That makes it relatively easy for individuals who create 3D models. Exchange of computer graphics with other computer programs such as CAD is also made possible by the file, which saves them and provides the platform for an exchange through NURBS.
